“As High as Honor”
A mountainous region naturally fortified by the Mountains of the Moon. The high road through the passes is treacherous, and the Eyrie is considered impregnable. The fertile Vale proper sits between the mountains and the Bay of Crabs.
The Arryns are among the oldest noble houses with Andal origins. Jon Arryn was the Lord Paramount who raised the rebellion against the Mad King. His mysterious death sparked the main events of the series.
Moderate climate protected by the Mountains of the Moon. Cold winters in the highlands, temperate valleys. Snowed in during winter.
Proud and chivalrous, the Vale maintains strong traditions of knighthood and honor. Fiercely independent — the Vale remained neutral during the War of Five Kings. Mountain clans inhabit the passes.
Can muster 30,000+ soldiers. Renowned heavy cavalry (knights). The Eyrie is nearly unassailable.
